Torrance is located in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County and is a great place 

to rent multifamily, duplex, triplex, fourplex and larger commercial apartment properties. Its job 

industry, conveniences, and attractions make this a great place to live and there is a good 

market available to rent multifamily rental properties such as duplexes, triplexes, and 

fourplexes. There is also no rent control in Torrance.

Torrance’s population was 147,027 as of 2012, which makes it the eighth largest city in 

Los Angeles. It also has the second highest percentage of Japanese in North America (8.88%). 

The estimated median household income in 2011 was $73,744 (it was $56,489 in 2000). This is 

larger than the California median which was $57,287 in 2011. 

Torrance is home to the U.S. headquarters of two of the three largest Japanese 

automakers, Toyota Motor Sales, and American Honda Motor Company. Toyota and Honda are 

also the two biggest employers in the city, employing 3372 and 2196 respectively. Robinson 

Helicopters are designed and built in Torrance as are Honeywell's Garrett turbochargers, used 

on car engines worldwide.The ExxonMobil refinery in the north end of the city is responsible for 

much of Southern California's gasoline supply. Alcoa Fastening Systems is Headquartered in 

Torrance as well, producing aerospace fasteners. Pacific Sales, PC Mall, Pelican Products, and 

Rapiscan Systems are among the other big companies based in Torrance.

The city also enjoys being close to a variety of conveniences. Torrance has a small 

general aviation airport called Zamperini Field, and the The Los Angeles International Airport 

(LAX) is only 11 miles away. There are two major hospitals in Torrance: Torrance Memorial 

Medical Center and Little Company of Mary Hospital. The are a few colleges in torrance, 

the largest being the El Camino Community College, which has over 8500 full time enrolled 

students. 

Torrance has many attractions, including 1.5 miles of sandy beach. Torrance also has 

one of the five largest malls in the United States, the Del Amo Fashion Center, with upscale 

clothiers Anthropologie, Coach, H&M and Urban Outfitters as well as the restaurant P.F. 

Chang's and the retail giant Crate & Barrel. Other attraction include The Torrance Cultural Arts 

Center, the Southern California Live Steamers Miniature Railroad, and the Madrona Marsh 

Wildlife Preserve & Nature Center.

All of these features make Torrance a great city to rent multifamily rental properties such 

as duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes and larger commercial apartment buildings. This vibrant, 

growing community has great attractions, a healthy work industry, and above average rentals. 

The density of the city and the desire for people to live here, make it an ideal location for 

multifamily living and the city does have great duplex, triplex, and fourplex properties.
